Hi Guys

In the weekend I purchased an entry level receiver a Yamaha RX-V467.  I hooked it up to my 32" series 6 samsung tv. I also hooked up mysky hdi and a ps3.

Everything was working perfectly but then the picture went and i get 'check signal cable on the screen' the sond still works fine.  Sky and the PS3 have the picture cut out. The setup is.

TV -> HDMI -> AMP
AMP -> HDMI ->sky
AMP -> HDMI ->PS3

I have tryed another cable between the tv and amp but still happened.  Sometimes when you leave it off then turn it on it will work for 20min then cut out.

Any ideas?

When you say the sound works fine I assume you mean from the speakers attached to the Receiver, or do you mean the TV speakers?
What happens if you connect the PS3 or MySky directly to the TV using the same cable?
Where is the Receiver located? Is there a chance it's getting hot?
Have you tried switching off any scaling the Receiver may do and select hdmi to 'through'.
Edit:
Since it is fresh out of the box you may have just got a dud.  If you take it back straight away the may change it for a new one.  If you leave it too long they will only send it away for repair.

Yea sound from the receiver.

The receiver isn't hot and shouldn't get so where it is

I dont think the 467 does upscaling. i have checked the settings and couldn't find those settings.

I have swapped some cables around and everything is going atm. At this stage its looking like the HDMI cable between the tv and amp wasn't doing the job. the same cable is now between the sky decoder and amp and is working fine.

Maybe it was the way i was holding my tongue.

been going for 15min or so now so fingers crossed.

Thanks

You're welcome.
I'm having hdmi problems of my own.

Having just tried an installer grade cable between my Receiver and TV that actually made things worse I believe my Onkyo 608 may be in for a trip to the receiver hospital, luckily still under warranty.
