I also have an EC300 TV tuner which was supplied with my HP dv6519tx notebook.

In Australia it worked fine, but it does not here.  I have downloaded and installed GB-PVR but could not get it to find any channels.  I have since downloaded and installed DBViewer and it has found 28? channels (vision and  audio) but I am not able to watch TV or get EPG to work.

I also understand that they require the use of PowerDVD (preferably version 8) and also the Monogram AAC decoder.  I have PowerDVD 9 and have downloaded into c:\windows\system32\ the codec, but am unable to register it. I believe I have an NVidia 8300 GPU in my laptop (hardware acceleration unknown).

Can someone please help?

Grab the SAF codec pack from here - http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/codecs-external-players-55/saf-v4-00-stable-standalone-filters-dxv.../ that will give you all you need codec wise. For EPG, use this - http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=126&topicid=61903 I've little experience with GB-PVR and DBViewer and prefer to use MediaPortal instead, much more n00b friendly as far as initial set up goes :) http://www.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-download
