Hi All,
I recently bought a 3D LED and connected my Bose V30 Lifestyle system to play BlueRay discs using my PS3. Initially it did not give me sound when I played BlueRay. I found some articles on the internet to fix this by changing PS3 Audio Output to Bitstream from LCM and it started working.
Upon further reading, I have found that Bose lifestyle systems does not support HDMI 1.4 (neither does their new models). I even contacted Bose, and they advised the max we can stream through the system is DTS / DD 5.1 audio and not TrueHD. There is no support for 3D video as well.
Some BlueRay discs have TrueHD audio ONLY? Is there any way we can get around this by connecting HDMI directly to the TV for 3D and separate Audio adapter cable with conversion to Bose?
- I thought about Optical cable, but there were discussions on the internet that a TrueHD audio conversion has a loss of quality using this method.
- If I remove the PS3 as a source to play BlueRay and buy a Stand Alone BlueRay 3D Player, what are the options or models that can decode TrueHD and supply to Bose in DD / DTS 5.1 ?
- Is there any other options / adapters ?
Sorry if my question is a bit confusing !!
