Hi to everyone reading this post. I would like your help with an issue with WMC.  Im very happy with Windows 7 and Windows Media Center image and performance however I have been annoyed by the fact that no matter how many times I tried I cant get any EPG data for my channels guide so I can do recordings. When I tried to download the data it states that fail to find data for this area...but I got internet working and Im receiving the channels HD.

Is there any way to address that or I have to use Hauppauge software...I hope not as I prefer WMC

thanks in advance for your replies to this post,

Andy

Windows Media Center on DVB-T does not display any more EPG data than the next few shows. Are you not seeing any?

You need the EPG Collector program to load the EPG.

Just to be clear, freeview HD (the land based UHF aerial type of freeview), does not come with much EIT data, which is what Windows Media Centre uses to create the EPG.

Freeview satellite comes with the whole 7 days worth.

Both flavours come with the official full 7 day MHEG5 EPG.

If you are using freeview HD then you need to use one of the cool little MHEG5 data collector tools that will generate the EPG data for you. The guys above know all about that and there are some great guides here on geekzone that talk about doing that.

+1 for the EPG collector! Great app developed by some of the guys here. I use it with guidehound which takes the .xml file epg collector creates and imports it into media center.
