Hello,

Any idea where I can buy a 2x16 (or similar) LCD screen I can attach to my HTPC so I can display some information while the TV is off? (song playing etc).

Jaycar/Mindkits have only the LCD screen and while I don't mind some soldering I would prefer a solution that's already built and looks reasonably good.

Any ideas where I can get one? Ordering from overseas is not a problem if I can't find it here.

Edit: Thinking more about this, it's likely that a 4" (7"?) photo frame that has some USB client functionality might do the trick just fine.

I got one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Other-electronics/Other/auction-407261543.htm dollar reserve.

Anyway, no joy with it yet, it seems to not have the pins for backlight wired and my displays are all negative ones so are useless without backlight.

Also its TTL level not RS232, I was just going to use a dirt cheap nokia data cable once its working.
