you should use unblock-us.com, its a dns solution and seems a lot faster than a vpn. im using it on my htpcs and a ps3 and its working well.

overplay was good, used it when i was using boxee. but i can watch 720p stuff with unblock-us

Remember DNS services will only work if your ISP is not adding a transparent proxy to the mix already - like TelstraClear does.

Unblock-us works fine for me on TelstraClear, I use AppleTV and Netflix almost daily.

Or are you saying Unblock-us is unnecessary if you're already on a TelstraClear line?

what would my ip and dns settings be on my ATV2.  At the moment they look like NZ settings and that's where i think is the problem.

Are you sure you don't have another VPN service installed? Because it doesn't work, and they even list TelstraClear in a page about blocked services

That's because unblock-us.com is basically a transparent proxy, and it conflict with TelstraClear's own.

If you want to discuss this further, please create another thread.

You should find that the OverPlay Smart servers will match unblock-us's speed, but don't suffer from the DNS poisoning/transparent caching problems that affect DNS based solutions.

With regards to the OP - you'll most likely be best off investing in a DDWRT based router, and following https://www.overplay.net/blog/dd-wrt-vpn-overplay-a-new-dawn
