Anyone been successful in getting the Netflix addon to appear in a WMC7 install setup with NZ tuners?

I have Netflix working on my test machine which is setup as US region, but when I do the TV setup (I specify NZ as region to make sure it looks for DVB-T), it goes to scan channels and WMC7 crashes.

My in use HTPC is setup with the same tuners (HDHomeRun), and works fine for live tv as it is setup for NZ region, but obviously the Netflix option does not appear.

So I'm looking for a solution to either stop my US setup from crashing or forcing the Netflix option to appear on my NZ setup. Any help is appreciated.

Cheers.

theres a registry key you need to change to "US" (when you tune your tv it sets it to "NZ").

also you have to do something with mcupdate.

i did a quick google (i really should have bookmarked what i use) but this might work

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itpromedia/thread/bd80b0c7-7580-411c-b9fd-efacc61aa6...

i had it running fine in WMC7, but have now switched to xbmc.

Thanks, good to know it can be done. I'll keep experimenting.

PS did you set wmc with nz stations tuned in first, then set about getting netflix to show up, or the other way round?

Cheers. David.

ive done both. first i setup nz stations then did netflix. but then i had to rescan when i added another tuner and had to redo netflix.

basically the netflix stuff should be done last.

I've given up for now. I caved and setup my GoogleTV for Netflix and Pandora.

Seems silly I need two devices to do something one device could easily do. Fingers crossed WMC8 brings a better system for integrating online content.

theres only really 2 steps,

1. set regional settings to US (including the registry settings for epg)
2. get mce to update after changing settings (i think you need your vpn running at this stage).

Thanks for making me persist.

I went through regedit, and looked at every key under media center and changed anything that showed NZ to US. The did the update within media center and there it is - Netflix menu item - thanks.

Now to try it out on my life machine.

Cheers.

David.

glad you got it working, WMC really does have the best interface for netflix (the only thing its bad at is tv episodes, try playing the last episode of cheers, you have to slowly scroll down a list of 220 or so episodes :))
