Hello,

I've recently purchased a new 46" Samsung Full HD 3D LED TV (UA46D6000). I am having problems with playing games & videos on the TV but my old 26" TV which is only HD Ready (also Samsung) does not have the problem.

I am connecting to the TV from PS3 through HDMI, no switches etc. This happens no matter which game i play, whether it be stored on HDD or disk - also same issue when playing Blu ray disk (3d or normal).

The PS3 (fat version) video output is set to automatic for all resolutions and when i turn on the PS3 it comes up with the normal page showing accounts - i can login, view websites through the browser & go through all the options etc but as soon as i try to start any game the screen flickers for a moment as if it is trying to get a signal and gives a lot of static with white and black dots then suddenly goes to a message "no device input, check device is plugged in correctly and restart/retry" (cant remember exact message) - although the HDMI input is white and can be selected indicating the PS3 is still plugged in.

The TV has the exact same problem no matter which HDMI plug i plug into from a selection of 4 HDMI inputs, I've tried changing resolution down from 1080p to 1080i, 720, 540 and 450 but the only selection that will work at all times during the normal display screen for login and starting up a game is 450 (but this is huge and i shouldn't have to stick with a low resolution for a purposely bought TV for the reason of playing full HD).

The problem seems to happen right as when the TV goes from the normal screen showing 1920 x 1080i 60HZ to 720p then the problems happen. When i go through attempting to set the resolution manually in PS3 settings to anything other then the lowest 450 or automatic the TV screen goes black and i must restart the TV or PS3 to see the screen again.

Ive also replaced the HDMI cable but have the same result, even with a top quality full 3D supported cable ($60).

Ive looked all over the internet trying to find a fix for this but to no avail, has anyone experienced this problem before or know the answer? The weird thing is i can plug my PS3 back into my older TV also through HDMI and it works perfectly!

Thank you (sorry for the long post)

I'd contact Samsung directly and ask if theyve had any other reports of such an issue - or take your PS3 to the store you purchased the TV from and plug it into the same model TV in the store and see if it occurs.

This sounds just like the problem I am having with my 37" Samsung LCD and HDMI from PC.
The flicking and 'no signal' is probably becuse the TV does not support 48kHz digital audio.

I contacted Samsung New Zealand technical support who were extremely helpful (and geeky), but the problem was not resolved.

Is there a setting on the PS3 to force a game to use a certain audio sampling rate? Perhaps you can load the game on the older TV and set it to 44kHz audio, if there is such an option and if it will stick.

I'll be taking my PS3 back to the store i got the TV (JB Hifi) as they are going to plug it into their display model and ill see whether its the same problem.

I guess this will help determine whether there is something wrong with my TV or PS3 or that the TV just wont accept PS3 HDMI.

* Thanks very much Skolink, i think i remember seeing an option something to do with 'Output sampling rate' - I'll try this as well.
