Hi There!

I am wanting to do what I would consider simple in theory and PUSH Mp3's and itunes music files from my W7 PC to my Amp which is connected via Wired Lan.

My Amp is a Yamaha RX-Z7 and is DLNA certified.

Any know how I can achieve this? I know I can pull, but I want to control the send from my PC.

Cheers

I don't think being DLNA certified is enough. There are specific requirements for "Play To" to work and my guess is your receiver doesn't meet them. Unless the specs say "Play To" I'd think you're out of luck.

Specifically, "Play To" needs your receiver to be a DMR (digital media renderer) rather than just a DMP (digital media player). It's part of DLNA v1.5 and it's possible your receiver is just a DMP?

Edit: Confirmed according to dlna.org,  the RX-Z7 is only a DMP, so "Play To" will not be available.

Says it's a Network Receiver. What is interesting is that I can see it when I go to media streaming options in control panel, no issues, but in play to in WMP, it's not there.

It's just mind bogglingly frustrating.

Have you turned on media streaming in WMP?

Open WMP,

click on 'Stream' dropdown,

select 'Turn on media streaming...',

Click 'Turn on media streaming' & enter your admin credentials, then click on it again.

You should now be able to push your media to your amp etc using 'Play to'
