Hi Peoples

My Sony rear-projection TV has blown its bulb (I got about four years out of it) - so I'm wondering where the best place would be to get a replacement bulb (and whether to get a Sony one or a 'compatible' one).

I believe the bulb is a Sony "XL-5100".

The Sony website has it at $459 (but they are out of stock).

Thanks very much

Mark.

Try amazon.com - they start around $57USD - Dont know how robust they are though - would freighting from the USA be an issue - Still - cheaper than $459....

Putting XL5100 into amazon also brings up some philips equivalent bulbs as well -

Or try this trademe listing:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/tvs/rear-projection/auction-438817117.htm
$189 NZ

EDIT: The trademe seller appears to be an overseas supplier - but they have ok feedback!

I just did mine recently. I got it from projectorlamps on trademe which is the link that robjg63 gave you. It's only the bulb not the housing but it only took me about 10min to get the bulb in the housing.

Don't bother with amazon they won't post electronics to NZ.
