not sure if this is possible or not

I have an htpc and my sky connected to 3 tv's around the house, We each have an iPhone so use it as a wireless remote for the htpc and it works well.

What I want is to be able to control My Sky in the same way over wifi so thought there might we a way to have say a usb ir transmitter that picks up custom commands from an iPhone and sends them to my sky via a usb ir transmitter.

Possible or not? if it is where would I get the parts?
