So i have a parts to mount my TV onto my wall. Has anyone done this or should i get someone to do it for me. Anyone know what i should look for in Wellington to get someone to come in and mount my tv to the wall.
I mounted a 40 inch sony for my mother in law. No cables were internal in the wall so it was pretty straightforward. Mapped out the studs etc as best I could then drilled quite a few small pilot holes ( now behind tv! ) to be sure. Then installed bracket with large coach bolt type fixtures. I hung off the bracket by my fingertips to be sure it was secure :) After that was confident to hang new tv on it!

Thanks, ill just run the cables outside the wall. they will be covered up but the computer monitors, this tv screen will above my 2 24" monitors.
I mounted my own 42" Samsung LCD on a bracket. A mate told me that if I didn't have some professional toolbelt wearer hang it for me, I wouldn't be insured if it fell off the wall. I checked with my insurer and they were happy to let me do it myself, provided I could show that the bracket I bought was the right one for my size TV, and that I installed it according to the manufacturer's instructions. You might want to check with your own insurer, but I'm sure most of them wont have a problem, if you feel up to the job.
I'm no DIY genius, and mine has hung on the wall fine for a couple of years, so it can't be too hard. I'm one of the "always read the instructions before cutting/drilling/hitting anything" kind of guys, and I made really, really, really sure the bracket was firmly attached to a stud, and tested it with a large percentage of my body weight before adding the TV.
I don't have in-wall cables either. I have less than 10cm between the bottom of the TV and the top of the centre speaker, so I have the power cable, HDMI, and RCA cables (for a game console) concealed in a short length of plastic tubing that's fixed to the wall end of the bracket, and painted the same colour as the wall.
