well 2.0 will probably do but why not be futureproof. Looking for something I can mount in a standard flushplate that has a captive cable out the back I can route up to behind the TV and another down to the cupboard below where the PC lives to make connecting and charging phones etc with media on them more convinent.

Im not too keen on the idea of a passthru and another cable in wall as IME with USB the more plugs the more likely it is to just fail, but if you know of something that works well then I may as well give it a shot. would be about 1.5m to the TV and 2m to the cupboard from where the plate will be going.

Yeah, but that is a socket to socket passthru so I would need to find a non compliant cable to go inwall from the TV/Cupboard. I have seen those all over ebay and worst case I will end up getting some but something a little nicer looking would be nice.

Then this would seem to be the only other option and run a USB cable thru the wall.
