Welcome.
What's your favourite series of Star Trek?
I've never been enthralled by Big Bang Theory - for whatever reason.

StephieC: .. :)What's your favourite series of Star Trek?

Well... I could write an essay on this but in short

the original series, remastered in HD with the additional cgi is pretty good. Its different to TNG so I don't try to compare them, TNG was great and this is the series which I really did get in to.  I also like voyager but couldn't really get in to DS9.  As for Enterprise I thought this was a great concept too but I have to say the films both the original series (which I have a preferred list of favorites on also, its TWOK by the way, obviously) and the abrams stuff, I know they are different and they should be viewed as such. I don't agree with die hard trekkies about abrams, I like the fact we have new ST movies and they are pretty cool, just enjoy the roller coaster and try not to become too fanatical imo. But if you want to see something different check out the fan based stuff...such as Horizon. These could be spectacular..

best star trek moment...... when William Shatner playing Denny Crane in Boston Legal opens his flip open phone and the message alert tone is an original ST series communicator ! genius.

You did ask !

:)

Hi, and welcome

I grew up in Central Otago and would like to add that you have done well in gaining what experience you have.
I know there is limited outlets that stock anything up to date in the area.
There is a store in Cromwell that does have knowledgeable staff and they shall always be getting a visit from me when I go back to visit my parents. :-)

I left Otago to get my geek on with the RNZAF as an Avionics Technician in the late 80's.
Great training, but left there just after the 9/11 incident.

Keep coming back here, lots of interesting topics pop up all the time. :-)
