http://www.coffeecan.nz/ ??

I have a single group commercial grade Espresso machine, so no need for these capsules. I'm sure I'd try them though if I had a Nespresso machine :)

All good, thanks. Neither 'Coffee Can New Zealand' or 'Coffeecan New Zealand' yielded any luck with google. On reflection, I should have used commonsense with guessing the URL

That's weird, because the #1 result googling for "coffee can" is www.coffeecan.nz for me.

jonathan18: Hi Erin,

Great to see you offering both fairtrade and decaf options - the two types of coffee I purchase. (If only that was a fairtrade decaf!) And that it's NZ-roasted coffee... These elements take me one step closer to that of actually buying a Nespresso machine.

I'm used to grinding beans as I need them, and feel that has a significant impact of the flavour - I recall reading that one of the ways the coffee in the original pods stay fresh is they're filled with a gas (nitrogen?); how long will the coffee in your pods stay fresh for if they don't use such a method?

Cheers
Jonathan

And a bump to this query as well?

Hi jonathan18
Yes you are correct about Nespresso using Nitrogen to give their coffee long life.
The Coffee Can packaged capsules we do, we believe will last a good 6 months if not longer. They beans are ground and packaged straight away then sealed in foil bags to maintain the freshness.
Nespresso say regarding their capsules " We ensure the freshness consumption up to 12 months after the date of production. The best before date is however not the expiration date as the coffee is not a perishable product. This date is recommended for obtaining the best results in a cup."
