My handle is 'meowsqueak'.

That is not my real name.

I'm a Wellington resident.

I am a communication systems engineer.

I use ihug's "broadband lite 2Mb" ADSL plan in the Northern Suburbs and it works well for me.

I use Linux at home and at work. My favourite distro is Ubuntu and I'm a recovering Gentoo user.

I signed up here because this looks like a good place to discuss local 'geek' issues.

Welcome to Geekzone..

You may not want to proclaim the linux thing too loudly round here, while there are some linux users there are also some very vocal Microsoft Trolls who are likely to attack you.

Greetings and welcome.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

I proclaimed nothing, merely stated my preference.

I'm also immune to attacks from Microsoft trolls because, well, it's really a secret, but...  Linux is better! Innocent

Thanks all for the welcome  Smile

Don't worry. The biggest Microsoft Troll around here is Brad himself (and this is coming from a Microsoft MVP).

Yes well what can I say.. I am what I am. But only because Windows is better than Linux.
