Hello Geekzone!

Thought it was about time to get my geek on in your forums. I run a nz wide community focused website, jobit.co.nz, it's all about getting ya jobs done. One member posts an odd job, and other members quote to do it. It's taking off down here in Invercargill and I'm hoping to get it going further north pretty soon so keep an eye on it! Even better go check it out now and sign up.

I go to SIT down here (can't beat free tertiary right?), studying for my BIT. All about the websites and programming, so don't ask me to help with ya networks or hardware issues XD well maybe some stuff.

Looking to connect so send me a PM if ya want to chat!

Cheers,

Josh @ Jobit

Welcome to the madhouse

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

Lias: Welcome to the madhouse

Probably a very apt description of this place! Laughing

Welcome to Geekzone. Your site seems like a great idea.

Hi Josh! I'm near the other end of the country, north of Auckland.

Welcome to Geekzone.

I've just finished L3 computing through SIT2learn :) I heard about jobit there - cool idea, and I've put my name down too

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

Cool! I grew up in Rodney District so I'm pretty familiar with North of Auckland. Neat you heard about us through SIT2LRN!

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! Cool community to be sure.

We actually just got something really geeky set up, and that is txt notifications!Just using a 2degrees mobile data stick and an old P4 we converted into a linux server in the office. So cool!

Hope to learn about your guy's projects and swap ideas sometimes

Just an update: We've relaunched the website with a slight change of direction. We got heaps of feedback over the past year and have now implemented a directory for workers and a forums section. Also I think it just looks better in general :D

Let me know what you think!

If anyone wants into the directory you can use the promocode "geekzone" to get a free regular listing.
