So I looked at my badges this morning and realised that I have never posted an introduction message...

My name is Mike Skyrme, I work in the offshore / subsea oil and gas industry within the instrumentation & control / electrical disciplines.

I spend about 60% of my time working outside of NZ, much to the dismay of my wife and 3 daughters, however, when home (in Whangaparaoa) I like to cook, help out with (do) the kids' homework, resume my role as taxi service for them and meet up / socialise with friends and family. The best thing about working away, is that my time at home is uninterrupted by work issues.

I enjoy most sports, learning about new technology, putting on a builders apron (I am currently renovating two houses) and a spot of QC  for our NZ beer and wine producers...
