I'm dairy farming in rural Canterbury but spent my early years growing up in Christchurch, with a dad who is an electronics engineer, so I've always had a computer around the house from the age of about 6. I've always been into technology since and have recently upgraded my PC to an Intel i3, 4gb RAM, 1GB nVidia GTX550 which I run Linux Mint on. I'm generally into the open source side of things but do use Steam to puchase games and run them through the PlayOnLinux front end for WINE. I also have a PS3 and a Wii (which to be honest has sat idle for the last 12 months).

A lot of my searches on my PC issues bring me here so I thought I might as well sign up and start giving back to the community what I can.

Cheers,
Tim.
