Hi here - just a quick intro.

"Some of my best friends are geeks" - so I live in hope that some of that rubs off on me.

I've got what I call a "fringe geek" background.  I spent 15 years working in marketing, specialising in database marketing - so spent many, many hours playing with data, doing manipulation, campaign prep and analytics and helped clients understand their customers better.  I worked with IT teams and often liaised between IT and Marketing, since they often didn't speak to each other nicely.  But that's about the extent of my geekiness.  Oh, I did manage to hook up my 20yr old HP laser printer via ethernet to my wireless network at home, since I couldn't plug the parallel connector into my laptop.

I understand a lot of tech-speak. I once gate-crashed a MS Infrastructure User Group meeting - and laughed at the presenters jokes.  And tweeted about it.

And now I'm a massage therapist, running my own clinic in Chch.  And funnily enough I have quite a few geeks as clients.  So, if you're in Chch or just visiting, it'd be awesome if you booked in for a session.  All those hours you spend at your desk, staring at your screens take it's toll on your back, hips, neck and arms - and I can help you with that :)

Massage therapist, marketer, rugby fanatic, wannabe geek. @rachel_a
