Hi all,

I've been reading geekzone forums for years and finally joined up few minutes ago, I guess I enjoy being a reader, but I want a blog so I need to post 5 posts in this forum. Not sure if I fall under geek or nerd or both. I love gadgets, database, and programming. I've been working as a software developer / business analyst in the last 5 years.

Well, there you go my first post in this forum :D

Not to sound mean, but you know you can get blog service from a lot of places and not just from Geekzone though. I just hope you are not intending to post 5 messages just to get a blog, but also an ongoing participation in the forum for fruitful discussion.

Anyhow, welcome aboard.

Well, geekzone has .co.nz domain and so far I haven't found any other blog service with a local domain.

I'm sure I'll end up contributing more than 5 posts in the forum in no time.

well, Blogger has a service called, Custom Domain, where you basically need to get yourself a domain name, and have Blogger hosts the blog service, but pointing the domain name to their server.

I use this for one of the blog site that I'm developing at the moment, which seems to work pretty well. A domain name will set you for NZ$37, or as cheap as US$9 from few places.

Check out Blogger and have a look though, worthwhile if you want another blog that doesn't relate to Geekzone's essence.

BTW, what's geekzone's essence? I probably going to write about IT stuff with a bit of local news and a bit of personal stuff.
