Thinking about, I've been totally keen on miniaturisation since I bought my first spy camera as a kid. It was about the size of an eclipse mints tin and would be considered big by today's standards. Years later my dad bought me one of the first portable transister radios for my 11th birthday and I was hooked. But the list goes on and on: tape recorders, cameras of all kinds, phones, handheld CB radios, GPS, audio players, sound systems, gaming devices, etc.
My first mobile phone was a Motorola brick, followed by more bricks. My current mobile is half the size and around a fifth of the weight of the brick battery and fits in my shirt pocket. The first computer I worked on was part of one of the first phototypesetting machines imported into NZ in 1978. The b&w monitor was around 10 inches and the code books were six times thicker than my laptop. Things have changed a lot since then.
So please bear with me if I ask more than I answer. Cheers.
