Hi & HELP!!

Hmm. I see I've found my way into your geekdom. I am a geek wannabe. I love geeks, have worked with geeks, and at one time I thought I might become a geek. But, unfortunately, it is a lifestyle talent ... not choice. As much as I like technology and messing with computers, I just didn't have the geek mindset needed to be a success.

So now I'm back to doing what I'm really good at ... writing ... and, no not tech writing. I've done that, but most of what I do is freelance copywriting. Actually, I can just about write anything ... and since I've been around forever, I have pretty much written everything.

But that is NOT why I found my way into your geekness.  Here I am, once again, trying to solve a wretched computer problem as part of my non-geek computer service. I know, I know ... definitely an oxymoron.  Anyway, I have a client who is clueless and wants to stay that way. Despite my warnings, she insisted on buying Norton, of all things, over the web.

Well, anyone who has had the misfortune of being a Norton user knows what the problem is and why I'm up all night trying to fix it. Norton doesn't like being uninstalled. Not at all.  After yet another chat with an offshore telerep from the country where they all reside, Norton tried to screw us big time & charge $79 for support.

Oh, well, I guess I'll post the rest of the story/problem in another forum.

Me, I'm happy to be here and hope you real geeks can solve all ... half? ... my computer nightmares.

Articulately yours,

Kate_pea
