Hi all

I'm a Wellington based senior developer at the ministry of social development. I accepted being geek a decade ago so its nothing new.

I'm the resident geek in our Petone neighbourhood which is at this stage just a couple of houses linked with both gigabit and wireless LAN.

I found this site while trying to find a new media player toy to hook into our network so we could play divx movies on my neighbour's big screen. In the end we just went for a hauppauge mvp as it was all I could find without ordering from overseas (we're all a little impatient) but it does the trick and plays off our fileserver okay.

Looking forward to some dicussions

Welcome to Geekzone... I guess the username is related to a job/task identification on a mainframe, a username to access a system, or something like this?

Oh, yes... I am also in Wellington. Come around for my coffee - Wednesday, 1:30pm, Astoria. If you see a table with laptops, UMPCs, Pocket PCs, that's us...

Greetings (too informal) :) Hi from Auckland. (Which is 762 kilometers away from Auckland, incidentally, I spoke to someone and got the figure from them)
Welcome to the Geekzone forums!

Hi Carl,

I'm also another Wellingtonian.

There. My 1st post out of the way. Now I can spam to my heart's content.

Just kidding.

Also a Wellingtonian. Well, a Brit living in Wellington to be precise.
