Hi all,

I am a novice with a newly registered business. I have purchased a domain on 1stdomains.co.nz. I am now looking to set up personalized emails.

On their main page it suggests free email forwarding when you register the domain name. I have done that, and am now trying to set up email forwarding which isn't working.

Do I need to buy the monthly email subscription also to have access to fwd'd emails to another address?

TIA.

You would be best to contact their support, as they should know the products they sell and what you need. But for forwarded email, you won't need to buy any other services, you just redirect it to your gmail (or whatever you normally use) email address.

Thanks Mattwnz.

Yeah, their support is office hours so will check directly with them tomorrow. Their website looks like it should all be straight forward, and it's simple to follow, so must be me doing something wrong.

Was just hoping to have it done today while I have a few hrs free off the offspring.

Maybe look for a provider that has 7 day email support if it is for business use, as it is something you should be able to get sorted for you within a few hours, even during the weekend.

Hi there

I'm from Net24/1st Domains.

Hopefully you've heard back from our support team to resolve your issue?

Often what can catch people out is if it is a new domain name registration, the domain can take up to an hour to become active depending on when you registered it and the time that the .nz registry activates your domain name. gTlds like .com are a bit quicker.

Also, if you are forwarding to a gmail address then it can be a bit difficult to test. We find Gmail recognises a loop if you try email your domain name address that redirects back to the same gmail address that you are sending from and you won't get the reply message. This can make it look like the forwarder isn't working, when it actually will be working fine for anyone trying to reach you.

Hopefully everything is all sorted for you now anyway!
