Hi,

John from Central Otago - NZ's Desert area for those of you that are not from NZ. A contract services provider in the viticulture industry, and a logistics database solution designer, in horticultural situations. Some weather process monitoring etc etc.
Have made the change to Linux since about SuSE v5.3, and now the family are pretty much stuck with it. Usual NZ type household with various computers ranging from old to very old.  I am a great advocate for the very superior qualities of Open Source software. Married with two rambunctious boys.
see http://www.alpnz.co.nz for a better profile.

How very rude!!! I live quite some way from Central, Dunedin to be precise, though I have spent a lot of time in Alexandra and lived in Wanaka for a year.

Tony don't you live in the black hole that is Hastings?

Anyway, welcome to Geekzone Alpnz

Hi John, I am a newbie here at GeekZone but am a former Alexandra resident here, my parents and one brother still live there.

Central Otago seems like its own little world in a basin surrounded by hills.
