Hi members,

Great site, I'm finally joining to hopefully add some experience, and get some answers for tech problems :)

I run an IT services company, we specialis in secure, automatic offsite backup, and other cool stuff like satellite internet etc.

Recently I have been working with Downer EDI in the Wellington region, assisting cusomters with wireless and general PC stuff.

I'm based in Kapiti, have 2.5 children and far too many cars to be considered normal or healthy...

Cheers,

Adrian

(In the linked forum above, I am user: '6foot7' )

Hi Tony,

Haha thats quite a collection you've had! :) I think we're down to 10 or 11 vehicles here at the moment (yeah just the two adults here...), I've gotta get some of my lawn back!!

Thanks for the welcome,

AZ

Yep, I'm still there.  I'm in the Oracle part of the technology area that encompasses a chunk of the team formerly known as Satellite Systems (major IT restructure earlier this year).  I remember your name from when I was a higher-level pleb at CSC, and GTM or SDA came online (can't remember which of the two exactly).

Well, nice to re-meet you Rory :)

Ahh yes SatSys, FMS and GTM...I think thats all I lived and breathed there for a while... *shudder* Still, it was a good system for such a small team :)

Are Bogdan and Pavithra still mooching around in Satellite Systems?

(eeps, off-topic...)

Bogdan's now a Domain Architect and Pavithra went off to be a BA in the Corporate & Institutional space.

The IT restructure earlier this year was a major change for us all... new roles and business areas created and others disestablished, and all "functional" areas have been split into support and development. A number of SatSys people have left (e.g. Disco) and some have moved higher up the ranks e.g. Flash is now the manager of the Enterprise Business Systems (SatSys's new name) development team.
