I've been a long-time casual lurker on this forum, but thought that I should finally join up officially and post occasionally. And what better way than to do it politely and post in the Introductions forum!

I first started reading this site whilst living in the UK, just to compare the standard of tech-living in the UK vs here in NZ. It was quite freaky to see how much we pay for things like broadband, and mobile data here in NZ compared with the rest of the world. On moving back to NZ, I once again trawled this forum looking for the best ISP to go with (eventually went with Xnet Flood, pay-as-you-use-data; also considered Orcon). I'm a self-confessed tech addict, reasonably tech savvy, but not so with coding etc. And because we all like to show-off, here's some of my kit...

Toshiba M200 tablet
SE K750i/Nokia N95
IPod 5G 60GB (soon to be 160GB Classic)
TomTom One XL satnav
XBox with XBMC/XBox360/PS2/Nintendo DS/PSP
Nikon D80 DSLR with 18-200mm lens and 105mm fixed macro lens
Toshiba 32WL66A 32 inch 720p LCD TV

To the admins, any chance of a dedicated SatNav / GPS subforum? I'm sure / hopeful these things will become more common, especially with the recent price drops we've seen in the past 6 months and with new players entering the market (TomTom). Would be nice to have a place we could discuss things and post & download NZ-specific POIs (points of interest).

Hi cheeba23!!

Welcome, good to see you come aboard :D

Having a seperate does sound like a good idea, I guess we will just have to wait for our BDFL to come home and make up his mind.
