Well, i've been able to make most of  the things I have owned work.  If that hasn't been able to happen, my best friend(ex-wife that she is) has been able to help.  If that hasn't been able to do it.....it wasn't worth it.  I am pleased to be able to find a few more geeks to help me with things so I don't bother my personal geek, or use TNT on the project.   I will be 42 on the 22 of December 07, (42 isn't that what you get when you multiply 6 bye 9?) i've been playing on and with computers since I was in H.S. and the IBM sys 34, the trash 80, and the Apple 2c  I don't remember much about them (they were just toys and didn't like learning with or about them too much)  Now that I have owned a PC since win 3.1, I am more literate and funtional in the silicone wafers that they are.  I am using the second computer that i've put together, third if you count the last one of mine that I re-built for my girlfriend.
