Hi all, I'm Charlie from Wellington and I'm disgracefully immature mid-50's. I've been messing with PCs since a 386 was a hot machine in early 1989. My first PC was an 8086 IBM with a mono screen which I bought to do my business accounts on and within days of buying it I was playing games on it. Nothing like modern stuff, just word games, but still pretty cool.
I've been building my own PCs for about 20 years now, and built my current rig in early 2014. It's running an i7-4930k with a 780Ti SC video card, it's been a good build and will (probably) last until next year when I can maybe afford to build another one.
I am an electrician by trade but specialise in industrial machinery and food equipment, which I really enjoy. I'm also a keen road motorcyclist, love them road runs.
My forum name is from my best mates community, mostly guys in Canada and the US, and the BDA means Beer Drinking A**holes. Because, you know, we drink beer and we're...
I can be very opinionated and a little terse with responses, and I sometimes crack a verbal joke that no-one understands but me (what... what do you mean, you don't get it?). So don't take offence if it seems I'm being harsh, if I really am being harsh there will be no doubt about it! :)
Cheers
