I'm a retired sysadmin - mostly unix, and anything else except Micro$oft - with 30+ years in IT. Still run systems at home, dabble a bit with websites (typically Joomla!), am a moderator on one Joomla extension's forum, and contribute a bit on other forums.
Have used geekzone often in the past as a guest, usually as a result of a Google search. Joined so that I could add a problem of my own.
My pet peeves: 1. Mysteries that I can't solve; 2. Computer software, OS'es, firmware etc that is written for the masses and can't deal with something a little out of the ordinary or is blatantly wrong! 3. Incorrect details.

One peeve coming up :-)
I joined on Sunday, 6 December NZDT. Forget the exact time, but the time zone selector on my profile said Dec 5 so I changed it to the correct time. My public profile now says I joined on 5 Dec!!
After reading the email which suggested I post here, before doing so I decided to add an avatar - the time on my profile said Dec 6 03:06. But it really was Dec 7 01:06 - some 22 hours later. So I changed it to the correct time, added my avatar, and guess what? According to my profile, I added a face at 03:06 on Dec 6. (See pet peeve #2&3 above). Will be interesting to see what time this post claims to have been submitted - it's now 2:00 Dec 7

The post shows as 2.01am for me. Check your profile again and see if the timezone isn't set to 23 hours before current time.

Definitely look at your timezone.

The file for your avatar is definitely timestamped 7-DEC-2015 1:06am (according to the file system) and the badge record is 7-DEC-2015 1:06am.

Thanks for your time. My timezone was still wrong, I set it again & now times showing are correct. Not sure what was up, maybe I didn't hit Update? I should have!
