Hi all,

Just joined Geekzone today via emigratenz.org - I need a change of scene from the UK (which isn't very united and doesn't have a king) and reckon New Zealand's the place to be. I'm starting my application real soon now and will be looking for potential job opportunities.

I've been in IT way too long and now specialise in LAMP, but I've moved from Linux to FreeBSD which is stable and tends not to change too much. I specialise in data manipulation using Perl, but also develop in PHP. I've also written a lot of database query systems the use WAP on cellphones: no need for Java/downloads - my thin-client apps are accessible straight from any WAP browser so low-bandwidth/old phones are no problem. Also no need for special web servers - just tweak what you already have: you know it works! I've also done some interesting and useful stuff with email, SMS and databases.... if you want more info please PM me.

See ya later!
