Hey there,

My name is Sam, from Auckland.  I'm into the outdoors and I am currently training in the health industry.

Just have 1 question, but I am going to have a look around also.  I am posting my question in the off-topic.

Thanks,

Sam.

Hey Sam, nice to have another health professional aboard - what are you training in? I'm last year medical school (soon to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public as a doctor!).

I am not working in hospitals, I'm actually becoming a Paramedic.  I'm not actually sure if that falls under health industry?  In my opinion it does anyway.....

I am looking at either continuing Paramedics, or doing a Nursing degree.  Either way I'm gonna disappear over to aussie to work in a few years anyway.

I love doing something different every day, and meeting lots of different people.  It's great!

Definitely the health industry!

Cool, spent a little time with the paramedics, sweet job if its your sort of thing (not for everyone!).

Nursing is a good career - if you go that route I'd suggest studying at Auckland Uni (I think their program produces better nurses).

Welcome to Geekzone.

About 15 years ago I did a lot of rescue (Phase 1, 2, 3) Advanced First Aid & Advanced CPR training with the Red Cross when I was part of one of the Emergency Relief Teams (Unit 12). I considered going on to be a Paramedic or, but ended up Firefighting instead for a few years.
