Hi all.

My name is John and I'm a full time investor. I enjoy trying to do things myself and wouldn't mind to become more tech savvy, hence joining this forum! Technology is a beautiful thing.

Outside of investing and tech, I like fishing and generally getting outdoors.

I'm probably not much help in the tech world for people on here, but if you have any questions about investing, then please feel free to hit me up!

So shares are something you’ve periodically invested in for discrete or separate periods of time - rather than continuously? Like “Oh, winter’s nearly here - time to start thinking about investing in shares again”.?

You will find some HTPC advice around here, but none for HFT equipment. If you're into that kinda thing, there even might be a secret crypto forum.

Well, the best way would be to sell the 'absolute secret to investing, which nobody else knows' book for $50000 a copy, no refunds offered. High return, no risk, provided you move to the Bahamas and change your name :)

HFT is a whole other world, amazing stuff. Anybody watch Billions? That's a great show for those into that sort of thing.

For those who asked, I have some property and a couple of businesses. I'm almost completely out of shares at the moment, the market isn't looking too flash IMHO, today's Apple results back this up! Shorting if anything is more my play at the moment.

But that's digressing. Back to learning some more 'geek' stuff!

I felt the same, I looked through the NZX a few months ago, some good companies there, but all those were overpriced, in my opinion.

I’m sure it was a fail but this post was very much TIC - because providing financial advice in NZ is fraught with danger. There are large chunks of advice that it’s illegal to provide unless you are registered under the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act.
