Hi all.
Lets see now. I'm an engineering tradesman but work with CNC (Computer Numeriacly Controlled) Milling machinces. Sadly you cannot play games on them! My main hobby is gaming (first person shooters mainly), tweaking my computer and currently building my next gaming beast so I can play Crisis and Bioshock at decent settings!!
I also love aircraft (used to fly myself but its expensive so have only flown on Microsoft Flight Sim recently) aviation history, SciFi novels, movies and tv shows (well I'm a geek!!).
I'm married, live in Christchurch, have one son, two Dalmatians and a cat. Oh and two and a half computers (half is the rebuild project).

Ahhh such a warm welcome. I'm greedily reading the forums at present hoping some of the computer smarts rub off on me!

G'day from Tokoroa

I love flying. My first flight was a winch launched glider when I was with the Air Training Corps in Weston-super-mare, England.
I think my stomach stayed on the ground as we left it at about 45 degrees. When we dropped the towline everything went silent
and we floated on air.
It was 3 years later I met my first computer at University (1970!), about the size of a double fridge/freezer, 16k of memory, teletype IO and punched paper tape program storage!!! How times have changed!

I flew a glider once and kept looking for a rev counter! My mum used a punched paper tape computer when she worked in and office in the late 70's early 80's. Looked impressive to me at the time as most things do when they are newish!
