Hi everyone,

I'm new to Geekzone. I've been doing programming for about 10 years, I mostly do application development now in Ruby on Rails (for 2 years) and PHP, but I also do Windows and Linux server management (mostly Linux now) and I've been playing with Asterisk quite a bit lately. I'm originally from Australia but I've been living in the UK for the past couple of years and was in Dunedin for about 5 months last year. I'm moving to Wellington next month and I'm hoping to get involved in the IT community in Wellington, Geekzone seems like a great resource for IT related stuff in NZ.

Welcome to Geekzone.

Wellington seems to have a pretty strong core of Geekzoners / general IT folk

Welcome to Geekzone meesham.  If you can get your head the wind always blowing, you'll have a great time here in Wellywood.
