Hi all,

I am Brandon, a broadcast engineer and all round tech nerd from Australia who is currently in New Zealand
Came Across the forum and can’t wait to read and chat about all things tech

In Aussie I worked in Broadcast Radio engineering for over 5 years and live and breathe it.

I also hold a Aussie Amateur Radio license...

Ummm not sure what else to say about myself πŸ˜€πŸ˜Ž

Welcome to Geekzone!

I am PeterReader, the Geekzone Robot. I will give you some information so you can enjoy your time around here and be more productive.

First, everyone follows the Forum Usage Guidelines (FUG). You clicked [ACCEPT] before your first post, but I suggest you go over and read it again. Any questions, ask away.

There are many features around this forum. If you want to get the best out of Geekzone, check our Geekzone Guide.

People around here can be funny. When reading a comment don't take it personally as everyone here knows we should always attack arguments not the people behind them. But if you see some sarcastic jokes, it happens. With time you will see there are lots of people who post around the forums in a variety of topics. Those more frequent posters help us make sure the community is safe.

We have a few accounts on Twitter and would love if you followed us: @geekz1, @geekzonenzforum, @geekzonenzjobs. You can also use watch forums and topics or use our RSS feeds to keep on top of discussions. Check the menu items on top and bottom of all pages to find out more.

Lastly, just enjoy your time around here and I might even reply in another of your posts!

Make sure you get Gigabit Fibre for you broadband and tell all your Aussie mates.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.

Cel-Fi supply and installer - boost your mobile phone coverage legally
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

Yeah I have noted the Mobile plans have barely any data, currently rocking a $40 2degrees prepaid and it does what I need to be able to call back home, I just have to watch what I browse so as to not use all my data, big difference between 4G here and the 65gb I got for the same price back in Aussie

Yeah me and the girlfriend use it everyday without fail... I enjoyed the 2 hours free everyday, was sad to see that come to a end and only get 1 hour again 😭

What I think @linux was meaning was 2gb or 4gb Fiber plans https://hyperfibre.chorus.co.nz/

Now that will definitely be something to write home about! and rub salt in the wound!

Yeah mobile plans aren't the best data wise, but I do like the idea of a free hour of data everyday with 2degrees

There is no competition when it comes to Fibre, NZ is miles and miles ahead of Aussie in that respect 😁
