Hi All,

been scabbing info from here for ages... thanks!! 8) ...and thought it about time I signed up.
I've recently joined the HTPC wagon a few months back, and like others have been pulling my hair out with Freeview|HD and hardware acceleration...surprise - surprise! ...not to mention my stint with MythTV = very late nights!

Anyways, the end is near... just flicked off my ASUS ATI HD2400 PRO for $40 (doh!) ...and am looking at the NVidia 9400GT or 9600GT...silent models

My system is:
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+
2GB RAM
Asus M2N-VM Mobo
Haupuage NOVA-T-500
??graphics??

Marantz SR6003 receiver
Wharfedale Diamond-9, 5.1 system
Samsung LA46N81B 46" 1080p LCD

Background (geek stuff):
used to be a software developer... UNIX, C#, VB, SQL....blah blah
now workin in AV as AMX (control systems) programmer and consultant.... Programming toys = way more fun! 8)

So, lookin forward to scabbing more info from ya... and maybe be of help to others... and keep you posted on my epic geek sagas

choice!

Hey Shane,

Welcome to Geekzone, you're right - programming toys is much more fun. I've got a good mix of both currently. ;)
