Hi,
I've been reading the forums for only a month or so now and have found them all (well ... most) very informative and thought I should join up. I've already posted a couple of times but realised that I'd neglected to introduce myself to everyone.
Not much to say about myself really but I'll give it a bit of a go. I work as a Systems Manager, but this is a new job for me (I've always previously been in sales/purchasing type roles) and have been thrown in the deep end a bit with my newish role, but am loving the challenge (I've got a degree in Zoology so no IT qualifications at all). I do a bit of programming (only of the VBA variety) which is all new to me, but I'm finding it to be a pretty useful tool for developing costing, sales and CRM programmes for my work. Although this is meant to be my main role, I find that seeing as I'm the "IT Guy" at work with about 50 desktop users, 90% of my day is spent sorting out all manner of basic computer problems that people come across. It truly amazes me with what they come up with sometimes!!!
Outside of work, I love playing sport. I used to be a keen rugby player (although not a typical rugby head) but now due to some injuries I'm an avid golfer. I'm down to a 9 at the moment but hopefully should get it down lower this summer. So if anyone is down in Christchurch and feels like a round, I'm always keen to get out for a hit! I used to enjoy computers - but now I don't really spend any time on my desktop at home as I'm generally absolutely sick of the sight of them by the end of the working day.
Anyway, that's a bit about me, probably went on a bit there but oh well.
Cheers
