I though that since I have been more active in the last month or so than I was for the first year or so I first registered.
My name is Bill.
I am an ancient geek, having been involved in computers in one way or another since 1982. Yes, I am that rarest of breeds, a grey haired geek. I am also a computer geek that like and has played contact sport, namely rugby. I am a keen petrolhead, supporting Holden, Chevy/Pontiac in the V8 and the NASCAR/NHRA series respectively. And yes, I cheer for Fords as well, in the WRC at least. As much as I like the speed I find the strategy of motorsport to be as much of an interesting component of the experience as much as the sight, sound and smell.
I currently work in IT support and have done since 1995.
I am not one of those people who gets into the whole OS war thing. Each OS has it's strengths and weaknesses. However, that does not stop me from prodding with a pointed stick where I deem it to be appropriate, or amusing, depending on the situation.
I am an opinionated SOB. I will listen and respect a well constructed opposing opinion and may, after evaluation, change my mind. I will not respect a poorly constructed opinion and won't even bother opening my ears to ranting, although I will point and laugh if I fee1 I it is needed. I also expect the same in return. If I present a well constructed opinion then I expect the respect of being listened to. Whether or not my opinion is accepted is up to the listener. If I make an idiot of myself then I deserve what I get.
I look forward to lively discussion and good laughs.
See you on the battlefield forums!
