Hi everyone

I joined geekzone earlier this year but am a little quiet on the forums so thought I would be brave and tell you a little about me (plus i need to make 10 posts for my signature to turn up ;)

For about 8 years I worked in various IT roles starting in Datawarehousing at Telecom, to various jobs all involving online technologies - web development, design, business analysis and project management. I worked on projects such as the National Bank website, Telecom Intranet and public site.

4 years ago I quit to focus on my art full time (www.amiemccarron.co.nz) - best career move ever :)

During the last few years I built an online directory for Artists and then went on to building affordable websites for artists using Joomla - open source content management. This little freelance business has taken off over recent months due to contacts I have made on twitter and you can check some of my work out at www.bluebubble.co.nz.

Anyway, I'm not sure how much I will be able to contribute to geekzone as alot is quite technical for a webdesigner but will try.  I have learnt a few things here - like how to use my iphone - so thanks! I'm on twitter and wave and love learning about new web technologies in particular.

Cheers
Amie
