Hi everyone

I joined way back in April but have just had time to have a good look around the site (Christmas holidays are great) so I thought I would introduce myself.

I am Steve and I live in Kaiapoi (near Christchurch). I am an Agronomist for a company that grows hybrid vegetable seed for northern hemisphere clients.

My "hobby" is doing up the house we bought about 3 years ago.

I enjoy good quality audio (though slight lack of budget with two small kids), having my computers and phones working at their best and vegetable gardening (kind of mandatory with my job).

My Christmas wish this year is to get the sound card on my wifes computer working again (wouldn't work after reinstalling XP sp3 even with the drivers installed) so she can return listening to her stress relief.

I would hardly call my self a geek but have enough knowledge to upgrade components and keep my computers running well (most of the time). Due to this and that I also work for a agricultural company I have been unofficially voted company company computer geek.

Cheers
Steve

P.S. If anyone can help with the above computer problem please see post 55288. Its getting dangerous around here.

Hi.
It's good that your family supercedes technologyt. They're vastly more rewarding as they get older - whereas my technology always get worse with age.

Fixed sound card problem. UUA bus drivers were messed up. It must have happened when I installed the mobo drivers after installing SP3. Did system restore and problem was fixed.
