Hi all,
I have been here a while but just discovered this thread and thought to introduce myself.
I am originally from Finland, electronics technician, worked for Nokia repairing computer monitors before I left 1990. So I am mainly hardware geek.
I am using HP NC4000 laptop with Telecom Aircard 580 for wireless internet. Also I have HP Ipaq 2210 with wi-fi CF card and
Vodafone GPRS using Nokia 6310i phone so I am pretty much mobile with my gadgets.
My interests include human powered vehicles, photography, travelling both in New Zealand and overseas, and electronics.
This is a great site and I keep coming back....

My gadgets:
NEC Versa S3200 Laptop running Linux Mint 9 and Win XP

3x I-mate Jasjam, one running WM6.1 and others WM5.1, all working with VF and Telecom XT
Canon Powershot SX120 Digital camera
Various old phones like Nokia 6310, Nokia 6610 and ancient Nokia 1610, all with carkits.
Greenspeed Gto recumbent trike with Rohloff 14 speed Speedhub, altogether 42 speed.
No TV, no microwave and no washing machine. ( Not enough space in my van for those) I live a mobile lifestyle, call me nomad if you wish but gypsy I am not.
Have started my epic journey from Bluff to Cape Reinga on my recumbent trike supported with my van so I can carry all my gadgets with me and sleep in a comfy bed.

Welcome to Geekzone :)
I see by your flag that you probably posted that message using your aircard? The IP range for CDMA devices seems to fall into the US basket from Geekzones point of view.

Human powered vehicles?

I assume by that term, and your avatar, we are going beyond traditional cycles and scooters?

Tell us more...

Thanks for explaining the flag as I though on another website that someone is hacking my profile from Maryland in US?

That Slida scooter on my gravatar is a 4-wheeled kick scooter and my own design. No I have got no patent as I got the idea from Finland and not my original idea. Saying that I have redesigned the whole scooter and I would say my design is the best 4-wheel human powered scooter. I have been developing the idea for 6 years now and despite my publicity and marketing efforts I have not become a millionaire yet. Instead I thought about making the design available to everybody as open source design a bit like Linux OS?
Website is www.slida.co.nz.

And are you exporting the slida? I noticed a couple of the pictures were taken in Italy, is that right?

You got it right, I was in Italy a couple years ago. My fashion designer sister lived near Milan. So no exports yet, just me globetrotting with the scooter.
It is great for travelling as you may see on that picture taken in Los Angeles. Takes about 20 kg luggage with no problems affecting the balance. Good fun riding it at the airports, saves walking. The problem is that they are expensive to make as I make them locally here in Tauranga and buy the parts in small numbers. Ideally they need to be made in China as anything to be able to compete.
So I am stuck financially at the moment unless I find somebody who wants to help me financing the next phase? I may need to get on to NZ Dragons Den with the idea?
