I thought of the name as a tribute to HSDPA which will be launched in NZ very soon.

Didn't mean to scare you off. IRC can require a lot of maturity at times....

Anyways, welcome to GZ

You're more than welcome to come back to IRC... we'll be gentle

Slow process (spare time ya know). Cokemaster has been working hard to help me do things I have no clue about...
Geekbot is primarily around to massvoice, massdevoice, moderate, unmoderate, ban, perform stats logging, autovoice selected users, and just generally do the donkey work in #geekzone.

User commands tend to be frivolous, some are funny, some are intentionally lame. Most are fun used sparingly, and commands will come and go as we tire of them, and disable them.

Current user commands on geekbot

!ping
- returns an approximate ping time from geekbot

!stats
- gives you the url for the channel stats

!updatestats
- updates the channel stats

!blog <name>
- displays a link to that persons Geekzone blog

!myblog
- displays a link to your blog (use !blog <name> if your IRC nick is not identical to your GZ nick)

!google <search terms>
- Does a google search and returns first result. Add the word geekzone or wikipedia in your search to get really targeted results on most things.

!own <name>        or         !pwn <name>
- Let someone know in style that they got "owned"

!beer <name>
- Arranges for geekbot to serve the target nick a beer.

!coffee <name>
- Arranges for geekbot to serve the target nick a coffee.

!barf <name>
- Just try it...

!geocache <name>
- Suggest a game of "hide" to someone, without the "go seek" portion of the deal...

!notice <notice>
- NSFW
