Hi, I have joined to hopefully find a solution to our cellphone issue.  Need help unlocking a Telecom R101.  It is the handset that is locked, not the sim. My son put in the incorrect code too many times. Telecom says they need to send it away and it will cost $30. This seems rather unfair. Any ideas?

Welcome to geekzone.
What about it seems unfair? They have a security feature on the phone which helps prevent people using it if it happens to be stolen, or you want your information protected.
So they charge you to unlock it, $30 does not seem much in the scheme of things.
