Hi, my name is Daniel and I am a closet geek from Korokoro.

I also like the huntnfish forum and spend a bit of time there, but I am more of an environmentalist than a hunter as I spend a lot of time walking and not much time shooting things. I do like the gagets involved, including my handheld gps.

I work at a government agency in Wellington (not telling which one) and am in the field of Marketing and Communications. I love answering marketing questions, so feel free to ask any.

I mainly love gadgets, but can't afford them at the moment due to my new baby daughter. My current phone is a $100 Nokia that I replaced with another $100 Nokia about three years ago with the first one lasting four years before that. The bad news is all I can do it text, the good news is that I can use the Nokia as a bottle opener to open beers that aint twist tops. My dream phone at the moment is a Galaxy S. If there are any multi millionaires that feel sorry for me (instead of the starving kids in Africa) and want to send me money so I can add to my gadgets that would be great.

After spending a lot of time watching geekzone, I thought it was time I joined.

My current project is designing my own website, I have used Wordpress, managed to get it hosted, created a child theme and am changing the look and feel. I don't really know what I am doing, but am having fun doing it. At the moment it looks a bit like a blank canvas but I hope to remedy that soon. That will probably depend when the chores at home diminish, which is unlikely in the near future with a small baby.

I do other geeky things, like I love Starwars, though my wife threw out my Starwars bedsheets. I also love going to the movies.

Anyway, great to be with you.

Oh, reading your post saddened me - tales of Star Wars sheets being thrown out, admission of closet geekdom...

Say with me " I'm a geek and I'm proud" (ideally with an Irish accent).

Welcome, great to have you, even if you aren't entirely comfortable in your geek skin! ;p
