I just want to see the specs.

It sounds like my dad, he has spent 3k on his new computer including a big screen so that he can play X-3 in all its glory. I must admit, the graphics and the music is awesome. I don't need to listen to a CD whilst hes in space lol.

heavenly_wild: Yeah, that Flight Simulator has cost me thousands and thousands of dollars - bought high-end notebooks for it!

It's all worth it:)

Hope Dick Smith and Noel Leeming sell this model so we have some competition.

I know that Dick Smiths Power house is getting it in but according to them it's in transit so there not to sure at all when it will hit the shelves. I known that the smaller stores like 100% Electrical dont do this system and same for Bond & Bond Ive tryed doing as much research on this system as possable. As for Noel Leemings ?? have to ask I come to the point of just waiting for it to turn up now.

This X-3 sounds like a cool game I have some just like it like Pax Imperia Eminent Domain, Galactic Civilzations 1 & 2 + Expansions & another similar but cant remember unable to play because the games that old xp wont play it

It is but its recommenced system requirements are misleading. My dad before his new one had the recommended specs and had to run it all on the lowest settings.

On XP i play old games, just tell windows to run the game on a ME or whatever its designed for setting.

Sweet, looks like new notebooks are being introduced to the market. In the next week or so every store should have brand-spanking new notebooks on their shelves.

Hey guys, interesting information found on the net about graphics cards.

I am surprised to see that new cards like 8700M is not as powerful as the likes of the older models, eg. 7900.

Hmm, I wonder if I should go for the ATI X2600 or the Geforce Go 8700M notebook? Both are advertised in HN's catalogue, Toshiba-branded.

Does anyone know what the performance is like for the ATI X2600 vs. Geforce Go 8700M graphics card?

Are all these cards made for laptops/notebooks being that it says SLI my understanding is that form is for desktop only. maybe that might be the reason why it is alot better that the 8700m gt card

I googled for "PSPB9A" and today I finally got a result.

Well I think when I goto pick it up I will check to make sure that what they advitise is correct (except fo the graphics card I will make note of that)

Good idea. Assuming it has the OS advertised, make sure you get the install disks. I know people who have purchased PCs from Harvey Norman but were never given the OS on CD. I'm unsure if this is common practice among PC retailers. MS leases the OS to the person who buys the PC, not the retailer who sells it.

the reason that some new pc / laptops dont come with software cds is that the information is stored in a partition on the hard drive. This is what my very first shelf brought system had (was a sh*tty 600mhz system with windows millenium installed)
But as said I always make sure I have Original copys if a full system do over is required.

But I will check all specs before I swipe my card through the slot I already have a free carry bag coming due to having to wait.

I got a DVD from Harvey norman with my laptop and it has the OS on it.

Well its a recovery disk, i know whats on there because i have used it before so toshiba's do come with a disk with the main OS on it.

Yea still the same. Have to wait for the end of the week for this model anyway not to sure on the others. Was not told an exact date. But still a lil boy waits :)
