I have tried searching the web and it is not available even checked Toshibas web site and not even listed

Here is what I know so far

• DVD±RW SuperMulti & HD-DVD-R Drive • 17” Wide BV LCD

display • Built-in webcam & Fingerprint reader • nVidia®

GeForce® 8800GTX 512MB Graphics & HDMI Output

• Built-in Draft-N Wireless & Bluetooth® • Windows® Vista

Ultimate.
(Taken from H/N brochure)

Anyway what do you think of the specs so far

Yeah man~!!!!! I want to find out more about this beast of a laptop too. It is so hard to find information on Toshiba laptops eh?

I really cannot believe it has a 8800GTX 512mb graphics card. I even looked at the Nvidia site and it doesn't mention about 8800 cards in laptops. I hope Harvey Norman has it right though:)

Btw, it has a HD-DVD drive!

Are you sure it's this model? A Google search returns Geekzone only with a single reference to this model...

I am sure it must be a mistake, the graphics chip will be a 8600M or similar

From my search on the net, I can only find Toshiba X205.

Also...
Yeah, I reckon it is a 8700M at best.  8800 does not exist for notebooks yet, unfortunately.

From my understanding the 205 model is an American concept the x200 model is the jap concept with all the hours i spent looking for Information ive seem to come to the same conclusion. Nvidia only supports 8*** m cards for laptops the 8800 gtx is not even a twinkle in the ball bag.(nvidia even reckons that it has 768mb ram for this model /desktop section) Ive found somthinhg close but the specs dont even compare http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/22/beastly-toshiba-satellite-x200-laptop-gets-spotted/ Ive even e-mailed Toshiba am just waiting on the reply. Here is the page from H/N brochure http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/site/nz/flash/ebooks/catalogues/69601/pdf/P11.pdf may be we can make some sense out of this.

Harvey Norman got it wrong about the X200-J022.  I phoned Toshiba (0800 441 615) and the graphics card in that particular model is a Geforce 8700GT Mobile.  That is the fastest mobile nVidia card there is.  The X200-J022 has only just entered the market and the Toshiba websites haven't been updated to accommodate it just yet.

That is one serious love machine.  I'll wait until it shows up on one of my favorite online stores, then pounce.

Sweet, even with a 8700 card, you cannot complain!:)

Harvey Norman also advertised another model in the newest flyer.

Toshiba Satellite A200-Q01N

Apparently, it has a 512MB dedicated graphics card made by ATI.  I wonder what the actual card is?

Yikes!  I hope I won't have to wait too long!

A 15.4" laptop with high-end graphics card suits me better as I am looking to purchase a 20" screen for it.

Yeah, that Flight Simulator has cost me thousands and thousands of dollars - bought high-end notebooks for it!

It's all worth it:)

Hope Dick Smith and Noel Leeming sell this model so we have some competition.
