lxsw20: Whats with the finger print sensor being a us only thing?

It has a "Windows Hello" approved camera for facial recognition. From what I've read this should be pretty secure unless someone 3D printed your head.

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to secure the device. More just interested in why a feature like a finger print sensor is a region locked.
please let us know how many you'd like to buy :)

Not sure what you're trying to say Nathan? Do MS not see the Type Cover with Finger Print sensor making sense economically out of the US?

The Surface Book looks like laptop nirvana to me.

A great looking laptop, a good tablet and a full OS.

Shame they're not cheap as chips...I'm a tightwad.

I'd expect the Surface Dock be at least usable with Surface Book as well - to make the accessory more usable in multiple devices.
[Correction: Looks like Surface Dock is usable with Surface Book, not connect at the keyboard dock and not at the display/main unit though]

And I'm really curious and wanting to know what nvidia dGPU is in the keyboard dock for Surface Book.

Want, want, want dock. And Surface Book. It will be interesting to see NZ pricing particularly with the NZ/US dollar the way it is.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Between two, I'd go with Book - if money no objection lol... but I would like to know what is the dGPU first.

Well, the CEO just walked into the office and said "I want the biggest, most expensive one!"

And IT obviously need to be able to support this device, so need examples.

Is ordering still via the retail channel, or will Ingram/Dove be supplying as well?

I don't know where Microsoft are going on the pricing for the HoloLense dev kit, given an Oculus is $350.

Pricing really is going to be a killer. The i7 16GB 512GB Surface Book is US$200 more than the similarly spec'd 15" MacBook Pro, which retails here for NZ$3899. So for that model I reckon well be looking at close to NZ$4500.

Damn our lousy dollar.

Y'know.  I could be tempted to sell my iPad and get a Microsoft device.  Makes sense kinda (and my iPad 3 is now far too slow and I don't use it too much since upgrading to a bigger phone).

Get the top of the range one so it looks better than what the MPs get issued in the lounge.
