I wonder if somebody with a company that has an Australian presence could get away with buying them in bulk in Australia then shipping them to New Zealand (Making sure to pay all appropriate taxes, customs duty and filling out all of the appropriate paperwork) they would be assuming the risk when it comes to warranty claims and have to keep parts on hand but dealing with that stuff would be far easier with the repairability of framework devices

Unfortunately Framework don't have a reseller programme. And although they haven't explicitly prohibited reselling, they have stated that they aren't looking for resellers

If you buy thru normal means, you can order only 5 laptops at a time. Companies can order more via a different form, but that's for the company's own use and nor for reselling. So I'd imagine for resellers it'd be a PITA dealing with limited stock and playing with a vendor who doesn't want to play ball.

Honestly, the more I dig into this, the more I'm put off by Framework. I might just get a ThinkPad instead.

Requested this to be unlocked as I received an email at 3:05 a.m. this morning informing me that they are now shipping to NZ (and Norway, Switzerland, Singapore).

Shame the prices are now absurd compared with when this topic was discussed last year.

After 2 years waiting I'm still interested. I love the diy modular upgradability concept, and the official linux support is also a big plus for me. But I'll wait until the next gen models are announced on the 21st and cross my fingers that the prices on the original models drops a bit. (Although the ai bubble is pushing many component prices to absurd levels! 🤬 I have a nice little side gig checking ai models for errors so I'll be sad when that goes away, but the errors I find are shocking so I really do think we are seeing a bubble at the moment. Silicon companies are chucking money at ai companies, who then buy more silicon which gives the silicon companies more money to chuck at the ai companies, and round it goes. Its as if we haven't seen that pattern so many times already!)

Anyway, enough ranting. For those interested the url is
